How do I sell my music on Twolia?

First, you must register as a member and create your Music Profile. Once you have registered, we will ask you to confirm your account via email. Once confirmed, you may log in to your account. Twolia then asks each artist to sign a NON-EXCLUSIVE License and Distribution Agreement enabling us to sell and distribute your music. Artists receive 60% of the sale price from individual songs and 67% from album sales. The License and Distribution Agreement is found by going here: https://www.twolia.com/node/923. Artists are paid immediately though their individual PayPal™ accounts. Artists are then billed the amount due Twolia by providing us with their credit card (or a credit card-issued debit card) which is held on file. The submission form to get started begins following your approval of the License and Distribution Agreement. For information on how to open a PayPal™ account, click here. Here's How this Works

  1. Member buys your song for .99 cents each.
  2. Money is deposited immediately into your PayPal™ account.
  3. Then, Twolia bills the Artist's credit card (or a credit card-issued debit card) for its share of the revenue (for a single song the amount is $.33 cents each) from the sale of an individual song.

My Music Video wasn’t professionally filmed or edited, can I still list or sell it on the Website?

Absolutely! You do not need to upload a professionally edited video; however, if you’d like to sell your video, we recommend a more 'polished' and professionally edited piece. A home video will do just fine to showcase you and your band within Twolia. Simply add this to your Profile page! Music videos are priced at 99 cents each.

I don't have a music video but would like to create and add one

Great! Ask a friend to film you performing or simply film yourself and/or band with a web cam or a one-time use camera. If you don't have access to camera equipment, some chain drug stores sell "one-time-use" cameras that will provide approximately 20 minutes of recording time. They will also develop the video footage for you and output your film onto a DVD. Once you have the DVD, you can upload it onto the Website and either leave it for others to view or sell it as a download.

I'm not a professional musician. Will I qualify?

Yes! In fact, the License and Distribution Agreement requires that you NOT be signed with anyone who may have a financial interest in your music, including without limitation, any label, producer or agent. Most musicians throughout the world are women just like you! Our visitors decide which artists deserve the spotlight and whose music is the most popular. There’s no outside company, label or agent to take the majority of the money you may earn from your Twolia sales.

Can I list and sell my music on other sites if I list with Twolia?

Yes! You may sell and distribute your music anywhere you’d like. You own your music and maintain all rights to it. Your agreement with Twolia Music™ is NON-exclusive and may be canceled at any time with 30 days notice.

Payments

When are payments from sales of my music made to me?

Payments are made immediately to your PayPal™ account.

Please note:  Musicians MUST become a verified PayPal merchant in order to receive payments.  If you set-up your PayPal account to accept money ONLY from verified PayPal members you will limit sales.  Setting up your account to accept Credit Card payments, as well as directly through PayPal enables all buyers to purchase from you.  Failure to do so means you will accumulate a number of "Sales Pending" orders and will not be paid until you're verified. For more information about how to become a Verified PayPal™ Seller, click here.

There are other people in my band. How do they get paid?

Payments are made immediately to the lead band member's PayPal™ account. It is the sole responsibility of the lead band member to disburse any monies due others.
