As a political pundit, don’t I feel you should make a visit to DC? You get a breath a fresh air, my office is a block from the White House, you can get a tour & get to see me :)

I voted for Obama and now regret it. It is taking our country and driving everything we believe in into the ground. I am also a moderate, but quite disturbed at the way you have vilified the right. Not that I agree with everything they have done or not done, but I do not want socialism, higher taxes and huge bailouts. This is not what I thought would happen when Obama became President. If you are truly a moderate, open up your mind and stop making us look ignorant, angry and haters of the right. Let’s just stand for our country.

I’m not sure what definition of socialism you are using, in describing the current government. When the government starts repossessing private property for public use and we have to wait in lines for bread and gas, then maybe we’ll talk socialism.

As far as higher taxes go, I don’t know what you did expect if not that, because that was always part of the campaign promise. For 95% of people, higher taxes on the top bracket are actually a good thing.

Ignorance is repeating ideas you’ve heard someone else use, without actually understanding what you are saying.

I’m certainly upset with the Obama administration, but it has nothing to do with the few things he’s doing right.

The government ‘bailouts’ allowed us to see how Obama takes advantage of disaterous situations. He uses leverage to fire people, control wages and control who owns companies. So maybe you can stomach facism, but not socialism?

I don’t see government, making laws that they themselves won’t follow, very American. I don’t care who’s allegance they follow!

Your number 2 lie is in itself a lie–fire dept, education, etc are not socialized programs. They are state entities run by states paid for by property taxes (not income taxes) and are not nationalized as the proposed UHC system would be. Looks like you need a little fact education or another government class to understand a few things.

I’m sorry maybe I’m missing something here, but I don’t quite get how Obama (re: #4) “uses leverage to fire people, control wages and control who owns companies.” Further I don’t get any of the hysteria about Obama running the banks and car companies (Rush Limbaugh).

I have a degree in Economics and work in the field and I have neither seen Obama shift company policy, wages, employments, etc. in any of the companies who received bailout money, nor have I seen anything that would suggest that Obama has the power to do so. I can identify the faults of the bailouts as being too lenient, because the companies begged for the money (not exactly what happens in socialist/fascist states) and were really given the money on terms resembling a simple bank loan.

The only “regulation” set by the government for these loans (of which JPMorgan Chase, Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, U.S. Bancorp and BB&T have repaid the money) was an attempt at setting a ceiling for bonuses (for which there are plenty of loopholes to get around). The bailout has also, to my surprise, already made the government $39 billion in options issued to the government by the banks appreciating.

Now, #4 (”Guy S”) & #2, I hope this wasn’t the true concern behind your “standing up for our country” and being “American.” If you were talking about the true America (flags, fireworks, go U.S.A.!!) then you are probably referring to small businesses around the country. I have to say, in my humble semi-professional opinion, that while I may have qualms about the bailouts, this demographic stands to benefit the most from the bailouts. The fact that jobs were saved on Wall Street and in Detroit did not only protect our economy from losing those consumers and their dollars, but it also is preventing our economy from spiraling downward even further. An investment in these companies provides jobs and provides business to our small business owners.
