Fall from Grace
You know what’s kind of awesome? Watching other people bite it. Yeah, it’s kind of funny. Admit that sometimes you chuckle to yourself when you see someone trip and then eat the floor when the go face first into the ground. Come on, we’re all “friends” here, you can tell me.
Tonight, after a LONG ass day of site seeing, mamacita and I decided to take in a British film. Heavy movie, but very good. On the way out, my mom missed the last step and she freaking bit it hard. There was popcorn flying EVERYWHERE. I could see her trying to try to catch herself in mid fall and she almost had it, but her big ass coat that makes her look like the mother of the Stay Puff Marshmallow man got in the weigh and she went down hard (twss).
Let me just share with you that the movie theatre was PACKED and my mom was one of the first people out of her seats. As I was watching her fall (and trying to determine whether I could laugh out loud or if this would end in a trip to hospital), a question popped in my head: would this be one of those occasions when the entire room would gasp, or applaud?
I always hope for a hearty round of applause when someone falls, kind of like when I was in high school and my sister tripped and slid down the stairs and landed at the bottom on her back. Comedy. Sadly, there was no applause this time around. There were a few people that stopped to make sure my mom was okay, but the only “have a nice trip!” and “see you next fall!”s came out of my own mouth. My mother was not amused…

I can’t help it, I laugh - every time!
I once fell up a flight of stairs and bruised a rib. I was laughing so hard that I couldn’t stand up again. I spent five minutes laying on the stairs laughing like a maniac and looking like an idiot.
It’s always funny, even when it’s yourself!
How about the time I thought I would tramp down the garbage in the garbage can…of course, once up in the can I realized it was on wheels. Imagine my surprise (embarrassment) when I went crashing down and landed on my ass. Not only did it hurt like heck but I lived on a very busy street and was in plain site of all passing by at the time. I did get a good laugh after the charlie-horse left my butt cheek.
I’ve got to admit.. It takes even MORE talent to fall UP the stairs than down.
I tend to laugh, but it’s usually at myself, since I’m such a natural-born clutz.
Anyway, that’s me. I’ll do just about anything for a laugh, and usually be laughing at myself as well!
