Silence of the Lambs has nothing on this…..

Polly Van der Glas has taken human parts like hair and teeth to construct his creepy jewelry and accessories line. Check out the brass knuckles (first photo) made out of teeth. Isn’t it ironic, don’t you think? You can knock out teeth with teeth! This is some CSI sh*t! Imagine finding out your jewelry belongs to a missing person- dang. Be sure to check out Polly’s other jewelry/accessories, especially the human hair purse.  I wonder if her studio has moths and butterflies….he he.

Ballerina inspired leggings

These Tie Leggings by Anzevino and Florence are actually pretty cute. I used to be a Ballerina (age 5-11) at one time. Then, I became a tomboy and wore yellow sweatpants and cross-country running  shirts for about 2 years. I called this my ‘Fugly Tomboy’ stage. Then, I discovered my mom’s Vogues in the basement and decided to dedicate my life to fashion- for better or for worse. And so, a fashion butterfly emerged from the dark, damp basement that day, sort of like in ‘Silence of the Lambs’. No, not really, but I chucked the sweatpants and decided to glam it up. After all, I was getting boobs. I’m waaaay off track. I love these leggings and they are pretty affordable at $75 each.

Australian designer Caleb Calabro,  seems like a very talented fellow with loads of time. He designed the above creations that may pass for wearable art or a very bad acid trip involving a DVD of ‘Elizabeth’ and ‘Silence of the Lambs‘.

Some of it is cool, some of it is bizarre, but it all falls under art so it’s subjective. What may look beautiful to you, may look fug to me and vice versa. The more I look at it, the more it grows on me. Check out his site to see more odd creations ad enjoy the harpsichord music on the site. I love harpsichords. It reminds me of ‘Amadeus’.

To get to know the mind who designed this insanity, read this  interview with Caleb Calabro from Wearable Art.

IT’S HALLOWEEN!!!!!!!!

Posted by roxybina on Oct 31, 2008 in awesome, bad ass, jewelry

Happy Halloween! It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Halloween is actually the only day of the year Where I don’t get strange looks. I am going as a Geisha this year ( will post photos soon). It was a hard one between the Geisha, a random Harajuku girl or  Snow White. I have a Latex General costume from House of Harlot, but I didn’t want to scare my son and other small children.

Above is a really cool necklace from La Fille du Consul that I should have worn a few years ago with my Marie Antoinette costume. Bummer. I’m sure you can wear this on Un-Halloween days , as well.  I bet you could wear that as a headband for that ‘Silence of the Lambs’ look.
