Photographer Marc Da Cunha Lopes can sure bring out the spook in a single photo. When I first looked at the photos, I thought it was a little person, but it’s actually a real little girl. I see cookies and candy as a motivator here. Anyway, I appreciate the weird, like a lot. As you may know, my nickname is ‘moosh‘, which means ‘cute’ and ‘mouse‘ in Farsi. I love mice. So, this is just so precious! I love the Amelie reference with the raspberries on the fingers. I think every kid does that. Anyway, check out Marc Da Cunha Lopes‘ site for more fupe photos, including a giant cockroach in a lab, a lady breastfeeding an squid, and a bunny hunting humans. Awesome!
Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Cheers to a day of green cupcakes, green beer and green vomit! …And a ginge-cat for you!

Artist Patrizio di Renzo work is a beautiful sight of the haute couture of the 1980s coming to life. It’s like Dynasty had a baby with a mime from the Venetian (or Spy vs. Spy) and it created a Japanese Grace Jones! STELLAR! Anyway, I would totally wear these black and white outfits here. It would be like Where’s Waldo. So, Serge Lutens did a Shiseido ad campaign back in the 1980s. Do you think Patrizio took inspiration from this? Check out the sickle on her finger! She ready to cut a b*tch up! I want that.

Columbian photographer Ruven Afanador really has an imagination of that rivals Ray Caesar. The skulls, the hobbit fetus, the fabulous bow tie- it could be just another day at Marilyn Manson’s pad. Ruven has done more conventional covers and spreads for Marie Claire, The New York Times and Vanity Fair because dude has bills and has gotta eat. But in his spare time, he breaks out the crazy. My favorite has to be the lady in the grey bowtie chillin’ with the hobbit fetus. Check it out his site for more fantastical work. I’ve already filed him on under my favorite photographers.
Happy New Year! Live it up like this classy feline... look at all the beads she’s earned!!

As you may know, I have a huge fan of fashion photography, especially the art of David Lachapelle. However, I have stumbled upon (via myspace… shut it! I know you still have a profile there) German photographer/artist Tina Cassati. I seriously couldn’t understand her website because it was in German. ( I only know ‘Shizer’, shizerkapt, KaufHauf, and ’Das iz mein Stool’ courtesy of a summer spent in Nuremberg during my youth.) So I have no idea where she was published, what campaigns she’s done, or where she went to school- the only thing I know is that she’s German and she has the coolest photos! Check out her myspace and see more photos, especially the ones with the Matthew Barney looking dude. Good Stuff!

If you ever wondered what happened to the Disney hoes Princesses after Disney traded them in for Pixar’s computer- animated characters, wonder no longer. Dina Goldstein found them fitting into real life quite nicely except that they haven’t modified their wardrobe, yet. Because a Disney Princess can be you or me without the fou-fou dress (or with)… here’s proof. Yeah… that’s me. Anyway, Goldstein’s photographs resonates the saying ‘A picture can tell a million words’ or something like that. The next time your daughter wants to look like a princess, flash them these photos and tell them to study! Here’s a quick list on the images.
Snow White , barefoot and pregnant. Prince Charming turns out to be a loser.
Jasmine on a jihad.
Little Red Riding Hood , a fattie fattie bo battie- no wonder the fox wants to eat her.
Rapuntzel has cancer/chemo.
Cinderella may be an alkie.
Check out Goldstein’s site for more cool photographs.

My all-time favorite photographer, David LaChapelle, did a thought provoking spread for I-D magazine. I think this is one of LaChapelle’s more profound collection of works. Those of you not familiar with LaChapelle’s work, his distinct photos paint a vivid picture worth looking at for hours since each photo’s story unfolds before your eyes. He also is known for his fashion influenced and celebrity models in his photos. Add a splash of color and humor and you’ve got a distinguishable David LaChapelle photo. So , is Jesus your homeboy? Makes you wonder if he really sees us like this…
PS- check out my interview with David LaChapelle for his feature movie, ‘Rize’ .

FRED BUTLER -PHOTOGRAPHS BY ELISHA SMITH-LEVEROCK
Fred Butler was an intern for ThreeAs Four at one point. He has moved on and dome some magnificent styling with photography by Elisha Smith-Leverock.
I love anything shiny and glittery. So does my cat. My favorite is the first photo with the man in a bolero jacket. It’s like Liberace meets a bull fighter meets a mariachi band. Fun!
PS- I bet the people in the 3rd photo can get HBO. (I can’t wait till Entourage and Little Britain USA start back up again.)

Dutch photographer/artist , Hendrik Kerstens, latest work involves plastic bags, toilet paper rolls and toilet paper. Sounds like my son’s items of choice for an afternoon of crafting or his diaper disposal. Anyway, the above are a few of this bizarre art that is display at some unlucky art gallery. That chick looks like she’s ready to quit this b*tch! The last photo reminds of Dieter for some odd reason- it could be the black turtle neck speaking to me. Visit Hendrik’s site to see where you can view this mess.

Many people think Ray Caesar’s art is nothing short of gruesome and creepy, but in my eyes (and a few other twisted souls like me) think he is the greatest artist that ever was! His mind is rich of disturbing images he witnessed while working for 17 years at the Art and Photography Department of The Hospital For Sick Children in Toronto , making for a world of art that is like no other’s.
Lucky for us fans, Ray Caesar has a book available through Murphy Design retailing for $54. Only 500 signed limited releases.
