Belgian fashion designer Anna Heylen had made miniature versions of her fashion lines for dolls back in 1993. She recently resurrected them and can be seen at her shop in Antwerp. You can read about why she does this …blah blah blah, here. I think it’s a great idea to show your clothes on dolls. I mean you save tons of money and you don’t have to deal with bitchy or late models. Score! Anyway, I threw in some dolls of Lady Gaga made by a devoted fan while we’re on the subject. And by devoted , I mean rabbit stew and flicking lamps.

Lebanese designer Ziad Ghanem is my new favorite designer! He’s like a hybrid of Jean-Paul Gaultier and Alexander McQueen, but more fupe. As you may know, I love fupe couture so,this fits the bill! The stegosaurus corset may be my favorite one out the bunch. Actually, the British bunny get-up is pretty cool, too, because I love bunnies and the Brits! I have a feeling Lady Gaga would dig Ziad. The chain ensemble for men is pretty dope. It would be killer if it were gold because I’m tacky like that. Ziad is definitely one to watch!

My friend , ‘Tressa the Hairdressa’, designed these awesome hair/head pieces. I asked her to do a teacup to go with my Alice in Wonderland outfit and she came up with the above photo. Seeing that I love gnomes (like LOVE, I have a gaggle gnomes in my home), Tressa made a mushroom hat for days when I feel like prancing through the forest with my little gnome looking for ladybugs. (What? Doesn’t everyone do that?) And , last but not least, the ‘rosettes’ made of matching hair for a ‘Rose” effect! Those are great because you slide them on and it looks like you had you’re hair done at the hairdressa! You can order these and many others at Puppycatmeow.
PS- I made the photos look like a storybook with the ‘vignette’ and ‘antique’ option on my iPhoto…Good stuff!
PPS- She also did the Lady Gaga Bow for me as seen on an earlier post!

Viktor & Rolf,
awesome,

cute

Viktor & Rolf ’s Spring 2010 collection had a cheeky take on the current state of the economy- cut backs on the ball gown. I thought it was remarkably done and once again proves the Dutch duo are geniuses stuck in clones of Dieter’s body. I love the use of tulle in anything! It reminds me of a ballerina, princess, or fairy. Yes, my taste still reflects a 4 year old girl’s fashion sense. I still shop at Gymboree. For myself. Anyway, the show must have spectacular with Róisín Murphy (the women Lady Gaga supposedly steals her looks from) performing during the show. Looking at these photos, try to picture the bolts and bolts of tulle used to create ONE dress- amazing!

Wig and Hair extraordinaire, Charlie Le Mindu created a lip-shaped wig for his Spring 2010 collection. It could look obscene if flipped sideways. I’m not even gonna go there! I like how there are 3 pairs of sunglasses. It reminds me of that statue in Soho, NYC with 8 pairs of boobies. The other wig is more than a wig, it’s a fuping mask - Prince’s My Name is Prince style! That was my jam back in the day! My name is Prince ’cause I am funky! I’ll spare you the lyrics even though they’re embedded in my brain until I die! Plus, I know you know them already. So, check out Charlie’s website- it’s really cool, especially, with the New Jersey mafia housewife as a reoccurring character as the pages load.
Also, Check out PuppyCatMeow’s awesome custom headband/ hair bow made by the delightful Tressa the Hairdressa! She does custom work and has a great section of non-custom cool stuff for hair. You may contact her for any wig/hair creations at puppycatmeow (at) hotmail.com ( make sure you put ‘hair bow ‘ in the subject line) . I LOVE my HAIR BOW! Although, I’m not kookoo for Lady Gaga, that hair bow is the bomb! Thanks, Tressa, for making this for me!

When I see Lady Gaga, I can’t help notice the striking facial resemblance and style she has with the late Isabella Blow. For those of you who don’t know who Isabella Blow is, let’s just say she was the hottest slut in all the fashion world. She was a fashion muse to AlexanderMcQueen and Philip Treacy and also a staunch supporter of the haute couture world. I remember seeing her one rainy afternoon in Henri Bendel. She had the tallest effed up hat on and had an equally odd dress to match. She looked awesome! I was a teenager at the time and thought , ‘Dang! I want to pull that off one day!’ Anyway, the point of this post is to let you decide whether Lady Gaga was inspired by Isabella Blow. I think Isabella may have had a love child and her name is Lady Gaga. or not.

awesome,
jean paul gaultier

Jean Paul Gaultier’s Haute Couture Collection was very innovative! Who wouldn’t want alligator overalls to get down and dirty in? I bet paint just rolls off like beads of water off a newly scotch guarded couch. No, kidding aside- Jean Paul Gaultier is one of my most favorite designers of all time. Thierry Mugler is on the list , too, which I think was an influence on Gaultier, which is apparent in the two 3-dimensional bodysuits above. Lady Gaga must be trying to whip this up on a Michael’s budget with aluminum foil and an orgami kit. By the way, is Jean Paul mowing down a Klondike Bar? I wonder what he would do for a Klondike Bar? He would probably sing his international smash hit , ‘How to do zat!’ . I have the single on tape. I need to transfer that to my iPod for my listening and ‘making fun of’ pleasure.

Lady Gaga is on her Fame Ball tour and wears a really cool bubble dress for part of her show. I’m not too keen on her music (I’m not a 12 year old girl and I’m not a gay man) , but her outfits are pretty damn cool! What irks me is that Hussein Chalayan had a bubble dress in his Spring 2007 collection that looks identical to Lady Gaga’s bubble dress. I would understand if you’re a teenager and you want to replicate something that you can’t afford, but she’s a recording artist that makes an ass load of money in the public eye. I don’t like this, it reminds me this girl I knew that would rip off my style… I hated that!
