Buy Now, Wear Later: Fringe Bags

Dear Twolia Divas,

Things might be creeping back to normal - or as normal as things can creep after a rude financial awakening - but one lesson that will stay with us smart divas is Cost Per Wear (CPW). What’s the point of buying those devilishly fabulous Prada pumps for $700 if they are neon pink and you only plan to wear them one time? If the Prada pumps are a classic Mary Jane with maybe a minor hint of neon at the piping of the strap well then maybe the  CPW will make the purchase more acceptable. As things being to settle, many will still continue to buy less but that doesn’t mean we wont buy luxury. Expensive items (and for some “expensive” is $500 for others its $1500) will sell if the CPW is obvious and the luxury is understated and evident in the quality not the bling factor. With all that said, one style that you can purchase now and rest assured on continuous wear is fringe detailing on handbags. For maximum CPW look for handbags that are black, pewter or grey. Dark browns work too, but be careful with the brown you choose - if it’s a shaggy brown/tan then you are rockin the 70s trend with a capital T and your CPW will not be high. Also, I recommend fringe waves, not just fringe at the base of the bag or on the flap - that sometimes reads too cowgirl-esque. If you’re debating what type of silhouette to get, go for the clutch with fringe. The sexy motion of the bag as you dance the night away will always be in vogue. Here are two options I like:
1. Kate Spade Yuma Ida Tote $395 Endless.com

2. Posse NYC Anissa Clutch $286 PosseNYC.compossefringe

Happy Accessorizing!
