Farewell!

So, Fashion Find will be shutting down at the end of December, which makes me super sad, as I have loved writing here and sharing my love of fashion with all of you fine ladies! You can still find me on my personal blog, Slynnro, and on my fashion blog, Slynnro’s Clothes, where I post my daily ensembles! I really hope you all will come visit me there!
So! On to today’s fashion find. These were actually not found by me, but instead my fabulous mother in law, giver of amazing, stylish gifts:

Pearl Wrap Hoops
These earrings are from Robert Redford’s Sundance catalog, which I have long perused, but often found prohibitively expensive. I was pleasantly surprised at the low, low price of these earrings, a relatively reasonable $58. I can now speak from experience, these are super high quality pieces that will have longevity not only because of their classic style, but also because of their construction. I love the concept of mixing pearls and hoops- perfect for a fun night out, and for the office!
Pearl Wrap Hoops at Sundance Catalag, $58.00.

I used to anxiously await the day when the J. Crew new arrivals came out. But having spent a small fortune at that store this year, I am trying to diversity and expand my horizons. Which means, I know wait with bated breath for the Anthropologie new arrivals.
Okay, I know that is a weak attempt at expanding my horizons. So sue me. Hey, who can blame me for such things when there are beautiful pieces like this to lust after:

Speckled Ink Dress
Sigh. It’s just so pretty. I have so many things in mind for this gorgeous frock- cruising the meditteranean on a yacht, touring glorious vineyards in Wine County, frolicking on the beach, staring off into the sky whilst standing on a balcony (as the model saw fit to do) But more realistically speaking, it would be fabulous for a spring wedding or a rehearsal dinner. And since I so love to plan out my ensembles for such events eons in advance, it works out well that this dress comes out in December for a wedding that will be taking place in April!
Another glorious thing about this dress? No jewelry required, which means less packing and more importantly, less thinking on my part!
Speckled Ink Dress by Plenty by Tracey Reese at Anthropologie, $158.00. Sizes XS-L.

I get, oh a few MILLION shopping related emails every day. I try and delete as many of them as I can before reading, but a few always slip through. One of the few that I did read this morning? The one from Shopbop.com, announcing an extra 20% off everything in the 50% off and 70% off sale sections, which is a great opportunity to get some nifty designer duds at some amazing prices. A TON of gorgeous stuff caught my eye, but none more than this incredibly unique piece from Wink:

Kristen Dress
This dress is the perfect thing for New Year’s Eve! Or an elegant wedding! Or a fabulous night out. I love the unique shape, the beautiful color combination, the ruffled hem! And check out the ultra sexy open back:

OOH LALA!
Super hot stuff, but it can be covered with a leather jacket (a motorcycle style would be amazing with this dress- fabulous girly/tough contrast!) or a cardigan. Pair it with tights and boots or heels and prepare for lots of second looks!
Kristen Dress by Wink at Shopbop.com, on sale for $96.80 with code EXTRA20, marked down from $242! Sizes medium and large.
More Ways Than One.

The dreaded New Year’s Eve is upon us in a matter of days. I say dreaded because A) New Year’s Eve always turns out to be SO expensive and B) It is never as much fun as I seem to hope that it will be. But one thing that can be a guaranteed good time? Wearing a fabulous party dress! While I do dream of prancing around in a fabulous sequined sparkly dress, I know that that is so not a practical buy. I would much rather buy something I can wear again, no matter how tempting those pricey embellished numbers are.

Tiered Silk Dress
This dress is dressy without being that kind of dressy. You know, the kind that requires a prix fixe menu and champagne and some obnoxious 2010 glasses. This dress can even be worn to work if you play it right. Pair it with a cardigan or turtleneck and tights for evenings. Add strappy sandals and glittery jewelry (like this gorgeous and sequined necklace!) for a night time look. This dress is amazingly versatile!
Tiered Silk Dress at the Gap, $59.99. Available in True Navy or Smoky Pearl. Available in sizes XS-XXL. Also available in petites.

I went to the mall to cash in on some gift cards today, and afterwards was smart enough to meander through the mall to check and see if there were any after Christmas deals to be had. My last stop was at LOFT (formerly Ann Taylor LOFT). Having cleaned them out before the holidays (and being on the receiving end of some great LOFT goodies from my family), I didn’t see too much I didn’t already have. But luckily on my way out, I happened to walk past a dress I had tried on during a previous LOFT shopping trip. And it was marked down to NOTHING!

Crepe Sheath Dress with Cowl Neck
This may not look like much in the picture online, but in person this dress is just adorable. And is THE PERFECT building block piece for a work wardrobe. I have a great collection of jackets I have purchased for mix and match suiting purposes and this dress will work with all of them. If this is a look you love, try Forever 21 and you will find a fabulous, affordable selection of jackets that will look amazing with this simple sheath. And the best part? THE PRICE! $29.99, marked down from $89.00. In store, all clothing items are an additional 25% off. There is also a great opportunity in store to donate to St. Jude, and at this price, you can donate some of your savings to a good cause!
Crepe Sheath Cowl Neck Dress at LOFT, $29.99. Available in sizes 00-18.
It’s Cold Outside. But Also Cute.

As I have mentioned ad nauseum around here, I do not live in a super cold climate. But I know several lovely, fashionable ladies who do. And like everyone else, they all sport the giant puffer jackets when the snow begins to fall. I understand the desire, but for me, when I have to sport a fancy coat, I rather enjoy it. When the temperatures drop, I feel extremely “professional lawyer” when I’m marching in to work in my long pretty coat. I would hate to be denied this fashion pleasure because of the super cold! When I think super cold weather, I think North Face.
Thankfully, North Face has a solution for the super cold, super fashionable ladies out there:

The North Face Whitby Jacket
From afar? You would never guess this stylish trench style jacket was made by The North Face. This jacket is insulated- nylon lining and polyester fill to keep you toasty warm! All that along with a flattering silhouette? What’s not to love!
The North Face Whitby Jacket at Nordstrom, on sale for $268.00. Available in sizes medium and large.
Romper? I like a romper?

Okay. So. The product I am about to reccomend to you? Well. It is something I NEVER thought I would be recommending. But ya know what they say- if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em.
This, today, is my philosophy in the realm of ROMPERS! I am still NOT participating in this trend. At least not in the sense that I will be wearing short suits that look suitable for your average five year old. However, I am totally down with this “romper:”

Bow Bound Romper
I hesistate to call this a romper because this ensemble? Isn’t child’s play! (apparently I am, however, not above making use of bad cliches!)
How would I wear this look?
Well, first, as is. I would not, however, pair it with flat spectators as shown on the Anthro site. This look begs for TALL TALL heels that are suitably dramatic.
Second, I would pair this with a slim black turtleneck. The color contrast will highlight the beautiful, delicate detail that surrounds the neckline.
Third, I would pair this with a simple black blazer to create a suiting look.
Any way you wear it, this is a unique yet classic look that will long outlast the silly romper trend!
Anthropologie Bow Bound Romper by Sine, $188.00. Available sizes 0-12, with a 34 inch inseam, perfect for pairing with heels!

I love jewelry. I feel naked without earrings. But one thing I don’t like? Having a conservative jewelry wardrobe for work and having an entirely separate collection of jewels for my social life. Today I found a pair of glorious J. Crew jewels that serve both purposes:

Crystal Thornbush Earrings
Now, I know what you are thinking. . . how are these earrings really all that different from the unfortunately banned glamour jewelry that one might wear with a party dress? The muted colors, that’s what! The clear crystals are hardly the blinding rhinestones often associated with going out jewels. And the “warm redwood” (looks like plum to me!) accents are simple and matte enough that they will not distractingly glisten from your ears, drawing unwanted attention from dress code enforcing supervisors (not that I know anything about that).
Crystal Thornbush Earrings at J. Crew, $39.99. All Holiday Sale items are an additional 25% off with code EXTRA25 and free shipping is available on all orders over $150.00 (which makes it the perfect time to check out the dreamy and work appropriate Wool Ribbon Ravine Dress I’ve been dreaming of!)
All The Right Places.

We all have our issues. No matter how cute you are, no matter how thin you are. We all have the one area we are just bugged by. For some, it’s our waist, for some it’s the thighs, for me? It’s my bottom. This is why I wear dresses- they hide all of my issue areas. But tonight? I found a dress to cover ALL of our issue areas!

Velvet Gloria Dress
The neckline? Creates cleavage! The empire waist? Hides any belly fat! The billowy background? Disguises any issues you might have with your bum! The long sleeves? Camouflages any arm issues! It is the PERFECT dress. And to top it all off? Velvet Brand dresses are made of the softest, most comfortable cotton in the whole world.
This dress is also multifunctional. It is obviously perfect for a romantic evening. But paired with a cami? Perfect for work. I would add a jacket to make a suit dress combo. Love it!
Velvet Gloria Baby Jersey V-Neck Dress at Shop LA Style, $130.00. Available in colors Cabernet or Steel, in sizes XS-L. Velvet cotton is stretchy and true to size. Machine washable- but I would dry clean to retain that perfect drape!
Houndstooth Heaven.

So it has been sufficiently long since I have posted one that I am allowed to lust over a jacket again correct? Ever since I landed my current job, I just cannot help myself. I find jackets here, jackets there, jackets everywhere! There is no longer available space in the jacket section of my closet (oh yes, there is an Official Jacket Section). But how am I ever supposed to cure this addiction when I keep finding things like this out there?

Leading Lady Jacket
How fab is this? The perfectly amazing ruffled collar! The vibrant, classic houndstooth print! It is the perfect combination of playful and professional. I love the look of houndstooth with red, and for the office, I would pair this jacket with a simple skirt, pants or dress and then add that pop of color with shoes and accessories. A dazzling red handbags and pumps? Oh yes!
My other favorite feature? This jacket has a hidden placket and buttons, so there is nothing to compete with the houndstooth. There are only a few sizes left, so I would jump on this jacket as soon as possible. And at that price? Why not!
Leading Lady Jacket at Francesca’s Collections, $48.00. Available in sizes small and large.
