I had a man email me the other day asking for some decorating advice.
This is what he wrote:
“I want to paint my bedroom walls a sage green color. I was wondering how to decorate the rest though as far as bedding and such. I would like it to have an Asian feel. Any help or pictures of ideas are greatly appreciated. Thank You.”
So I needed to look for green bedrooms with an Asian style. Here are my top 6 that I think were the most inspirational.
I like the idea of incorporating dark woods with white bedding and rice paper lanterns for more of a modern take on the Asian style. I think keeping it clean and minimal will give it the Asian aesthetic. What are some of your suggestions for him?

I have never been a huge purple fan but I am really loving this more subdued almost mauve lilac color.

First of all I would have never imagined that black and white checkerboard flooring, let alone at an angle, would look so chic with purple floral wallpaper. Those long purple drapes are perfect and really bring in drama, elegance and really helps you focus on an area instead of having your eye wonder every which direction.
The modern Saarinaran dining table is absolutely divine with those adorable weathered down white chairs and I love those props too! An old phone and adorable tea set really brings it all together. :) Overall a really great and fun space that you don’t see everyday.
What do you love about this space?

Adding beautiful quality made textiles into your home can make such a difference. I wouldnt mind having a few pieces selected from Anna Ortmark Textiles to make my living and sleeping area cozy and pretty.
Here is a little bit about the collection:
“The collection consists of embroidered and handmade vintage quilts and cushion covers, tablecloths and napkins with hand block printed patterns inspired by nature, throws made from sari cloth, lace patterned bedspreads, cotton crochet throws and much more - in entirely unique designs. The products go perfectly together with a sofa or on an upholstered chair, to give the home more character and a personal touch.”

What an adorable little bathroom! Love love love those beautiful mirrors layed out like that. I wonder if I am tall enough to check myself in that top one? Even if I had to bend down to look in the mirror I dont think I would mind. Its just that pretty. I cant get over how cool that wallpaper is. I love that they did just an accent wall so it wasn’t overwhelming and it looks like it was decoupaged on there. Very cool! :) Oh and check out that tile! You don’t see flooring like that every day.
Ashley from Decorology found this space along with more photos from the rest of the house from Elle Decor. Check out her post for more loveliness!

This week has been a little hectic so its quite nice to relax to the thought of spending time in these calm and soothing spaces.
Aahhh… So peaceful. I could definitely clear my thoughts and take a nice little nap in those pretty bedrooms. What great spaces where I can kick up my feet and chill out. :)

Loving these beautiful recycled tables that have been given a new life by adding a decorative layer of etched stainless steel in beautiful doily and lace looking patterns. The balance of traditional and modern gets me every time. Arent they stunning?
These products were shown for the first time at the Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven 2009. It is the result of the cooperation with Etsprit - specialized in etching technology and with support of Plauener Spitze ®.
I found the beautiful work of Ulrike Jurklies via Mocca and Me. Natascha was actually at Dutch Design Week and got to meet her and see these beautiful pieces first hand!

I am so impressed with the outcome of Jenny’s dining room makeover seen over on her blog Little Green Notebook.

On her post you can see that a lot of work went into her redo including reupholstering this beautiful settee and a pair of dining chairs along with painting a few pieces as well! I love how she shows that you can still design a beautiful and elegant space affordably with just a little work and creativity. Great job Jenny! Check out more of her photos and her diy projects on her beautiful blog Little Green Notebook.

I am really digging on these super dark spaces and pretty berry toned interiors this week.
That apple arrangement is absolute genius. It would be so pretty to do that for an autumn party get together and the best part is you can eat the apples afterward!
Thanks for stopping by this week and have a Happy Halloween tomorrow!

And this is just a small percentage of whats is on her beautiful website. Here is a bit about what Lisa does:
“Lisa Fontanarosa presents the world’s most wonderful, whimsical, and witty home furnishings. The Collection of artist-made pieces-from chandeliers and cushions to glassware and sculpture-dares to be different and is designed to delight.”
I think I would be quite delightful if I owned just one of these pieces. So different and interesting. Its quite refreshing for a change.
Have some time to spare? Go check out her site at http://lisafontanarosa.com You wont regret it. :)

Such a homey and lovely space to sleep in.

It reminds me of the Bed & Breakfasts in Ireland. Non pretentious yet elegant and tasteful where you could feel comfortable in someone elses home. I love that every piece was if it was passed down to the owner and delicately placed with thoughtfulness and care. The colors and items are well situated in the room and there is a nice sense of flow and from one thing to the next. I would imagine that this would be a very pleasant place to visit on a romantic getaway. :)
