I love how clean and serene it feels. Not overdone. Just the essentials. I absolutely adore the seating and how they are all different and fun! I think she did such a great job. Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! My mom went all out made the best Turkey ever! So moist and tender. We are still eating it! As usual my mom was quite the hostess and decorated the table and served us cocktails and appetizers just like how my grandparents used to make them. It was great to spend the holiday with family. Hope yours was great!

Weeks Best! October 25th-30th

Friday, October 30th, 2009

I am really digging on these super dark spaces and pretty berry toned interiors this week.

That apple arrangement is absolute genius. It would be so pretty to do that for an autumn party get together and the best part is you can eat the apples afterward!

Thanks for stopping by this week and have a Happy Halloween tomorrow!

Featuring: Jardins en Fleur

Monday, July 27th, 2009

I am really enjoying these beautiful pieces of home decor and furniture with a modern Asian aesthetic from Jardins en Fleur (pron: Zhar-dans Ahn Flur). I especially love this purple tea set. So adorable!

On their website they explain the meaning of their name:

“From the French it literally translates to “Gardens in Flower.” That’s when gardens are at their pinnacle of beauty.  And “gardens in flower” sounds so much better in French. N’est ce pas?”

- Simon P. Scott

Weeks Best! June 21st-26th

Friday, June 26th, 2009

When I was picking the photos to choose for this weeks best I found that I chose several yellow interiors. Not usually a color I would go for but it must be something about it being summer and maybe there were more to choose from. I also always find myself picking out green spaces because it’s my favorite color and my house is mainly green. I also had a few interiors that have soft blues, grays and whites that I couldn’t pass up so here is a combination of all these colors. This first photo with the chairs found over at Gathering Spriggs pretty much starts the post. Enjoy!

The last couple of days have been crazy so I apologize for not having this post up until today.

This week I was loving all these yellow, blue and pink interiors. Maybe it’s the combination that makes me happy especially as it gets closer to being Summer. Are you feeling the heat yet?

Featuring: Mint Shop

Wednesday, February 18th, 2009

You know when you come across something so different and unique you aren’t sure if you like it right away? That is how I felt when I came across the furniture from the Mint Shop. I decided that I really do like the furniture and decor from Mint Shop because it is different but also quite aesthetically pleasing and beautiful and most importantly livable. For instance check out that table that has two different legs. It’s like two face from Batman. I just love it! I look at a lot of furniture and lighting and decor and I will often times continue to come across the same thing over and over again and so you can imagine when I came across Mint’s products I was pleasantly surprised! Some of my other favorite pieces is the floral etched mirror (swoon), that chandelier/drum light (how cool!), and that yellow and black upholstered chaise! Their shop is a definite bookmark!

My Cake Stand!

Tuesday, February 17th, 2009

I want to thank all of you who left comments on my cake stand post! Since I got such great feedback I thought I would share with you where I am at with the wedding cake. I received my Williams Sonoma cake stand in the mail and it is so beautiful! I also ended up going with a two layer cake instead because we are having to cut the budget here and there and this will be plenty of cake for 50 people. I also was having problems finding a cake stand that was 14″ wide. The only one in my roundup of cake plates was this one from Williams Sonoma. This was also my mother’s favorite and what I wanted originally. I was hesitant to go with this one at first with the original cake design in fear that it was too busy so I am glad I ended up going back to this simpler two layer cake design. The cake design image is from Martha Stewart and I didnt even realize at first that the cake stand shown with it looks like the exact one that I got. So now I know exactly how they look together. :)

Elements of Color: Pink Furniture & Decor

Wednesday, February 11th, 2009

As I was putting this pink furniture and decor post together my fiance looks over and says “oh god those are awful”. I just laughed and said you just don’t get it, these are actually quite fabulous! Living with a man comes compromise and pink decor doesn’t seem like its in the cards but a girl can look and dream. I call this screen shopping instead of window shopping. :) So are there any lucky girls out there that get to have pink in their home besides the baby girl nursery?

Product Trend: Handwriting on Upholstery & Wood

Monday, February 9th, 2009

I can’t really explain the handwriting trend but I would guess that it might have something to do with more people wanting to go back to tradition since it seems that we hardly ever actually hand write letters anymore. I received my wedding invitations and now I am just waiting for a few more pieces to complete them. Meanwhile my mother has been addressing all the invitations in calligraphy and they look beautiful! I am wanting a traditional and very natural style to the invitations so I thought calligraphy would be perfect and I am so glad that I decided to go this route. I can’t wait to get them all together to show you guys. (Click here to see wedding website)

Since we are on the subject of handwriting I am curious to know what people still hand write. I hand write my to do list, my shopping list and my daily planner. I have a hard time keeping track of it all in my Blackberry or on my computer. Even though I can type pretty fast I find it quicker and easier to hand write fast thoughts like a to-do list. My fiance has an iPhone and he logs everything in there. We were at breakfast while ago and we were inputting the schedule of our wedding week and I was handwriting mine in my planner and he was typing it into his iPhone and it was like we were racing and I totally won. What are some things that you still hand write?
