Weeks Best! October 25th-30th

Friday, October 30th, 2009

I am really digging on these super dark spaces and pretty berry toned interiors this week.

That apple arrangement is absolute genius. It would be so pretty to do that for an autumn party get together and the best part is you can eat the apples afterward!

Thanks for stopping by this week and have a Happy Halloween tomorrow!

Room of the Day: Parisian Chic

Monday, September 21st, 2009

Last week I came across this beautiful space from Peacock Feathers and was blown away by all the prettiness!

I commented on her blog and said it reminded me of something out of the movie Marie Antoinette. I would imagine that this is the space for woman to drink tea and gossip on a rainy afternoon. Those drapes are so dreamy and I love the mismatched chairs in soft blue and pink upholstery. I think the only thing I would want is a bigger and grander chandelier.

Wouldn’t this be a great place for a book club? I think I need one of these girl rooms! So fun!

Interior Spaces: Pink and Lime Green Home

Monday, July 27th, 2009

I was completely smitten by this beautiful pink and lime green home featured on Carolyns Lost and Found blog a few days back.

I don’t think I could ever be daring enough to implement this color scheme into my own home but I can definitely admire it from afar. I really like the beautiful flow from exterior to interior and how they used the peachy pinks and lime greens sparingly. The hardwood floors and mostly neutral furniture and architecture creates a nice backdrop for these bright hues. Notice also how lovely the built in are espcially the fireplace and bookshelf and the window seat. Isn’t it pretty?

Weeks Best! June 28th - July 3rd

Friday, July 3rd, 2009

This week was filled with so many beautiful interior treasures. There were quite a few ocean blue and peachy coral spaces that remind me of being in a coastal area. The colors are similar to the shells, sand and sea you find on the Mediterranean. Wouldn’t that be a lovely place to be right now?

Adorable Nurseries

Wednesday, July 1st, 2009

Every where I go I hear about women having babies or they are about to have them. Maybe it is just that time of year or maybe I am at the age. Whatever it is I have a feeling that I am not the only one and that there are several people that desperately need some nursery inspiration. I think the hardest part is deciding what color to choose. Of course if you know the sex than it can become easier but even that isn’t always accurate even to this day. My parents thought I was going to be a boy because I was such a big baby (11 lbs 6 oz!) and they had the whole room blue. So maybe green is a safer color? I couldn’t decide what color I wanted to post so I chose pink, green and blue to give some variety. Enjoy!

Featuring: Tonin Casa - Modern or Classic?

Thursday, June 25th, 2009

Today I received a small and sleek pamphlet for the company called Tonin Casa. I have to say the pamphlet made me want to see more and so I decided to check out their website www.tonincasa.it. When you get to the catalogue page on the website it asks you if you want Modern or Classic. Now this wasnt an easy choice for me but I chose classic first which tells me a little something about my style preference. The first four below are found in the Classic section and the last four were found in the modern section. Which one do you prefer?

Weeks Best! June 7th-12th

Sunday, June 14th, 2009

The last couple of days have been crazy so I apologize for not having this post up until today.

This week I was loving all these yellow, blue and pink interiors. Maybe it’s the combination that makes me happy especially as it gets closer to being Summer. Are you feeling the heat yet?

Interior Spaces: Factory Converted to Lovely Home

Thursday, May 14th, 2009

I am very pleased to post this beautiful home that was once an old factory. Caryn emailed me these photos of her space and I just couldn’t resist sharing them with you.

Here is what she has to say about her lovely dwelling:

Home is 2300 square feet in a converted telephone factory warehouse built in 1936 and listed on the National Historic Register. What I love most about my home, and the building, is that the spaces were left raw, with concrete floors and ceilings, exposed ductwork and original columns, ready for each occupant’s creative expression. The building is filled with artists and musicians, and features one of the city’s most popular loft tours and artist sales.

The space is soaring, with clerestory windows up to 28 feet, and a wall of original factory windows running 24 feet across the back elevation.

Entering my place, to me, its like entering a fairytale, with 16-foot taffeta silk curtains puddled on the concrete floor, salvage finds from old european churches, military bases and schools — an Atlanta dealer imports from Belgium and France — the most amazing things, including that solid round wood ball — and some of the latest Italian design. Colors are muted blues and violets; the concrete floors are black.

A 6-foot amethyst Venini chandelier graces the bedroom, which is usually filled with 2 cats, 2 dogs — and me! The best way I can think to describe my place is like an ongoing sculptural installation, with ever-changing expression, depending on my mood and inspiration.

Office Inspirations

Wednesday, May 13th, 2009

I am in the process of doing an interview for another blog and she wants me to send a photo of my work space. My office space is currently in disrepair and it’s something that no one should have to see!  So before I send her a photo I need to get my office presentable. I don’t have much money to spend so I am going to work with what I have. I do have an inspiration board that desperately needs updating so I figured I would look for some offices with inspiration boards and here are the ones I found.

I am getting some great ideas already!
