Room of the Day: Floral Frenzied Bathroom

What an adorable little bathroom! Love love love those beautiful mirrors layed out like that. I wonder if I am tall enough to check myself in that top one? Even if I had to bend down to look in the mirror I dont think I would mind. Its just that pretty. I cant get over how cool that wallpaper is. I love that they did just an accent wall so it wasn’t overwhelming and it looks like it was decoupaged on there. Very cool! :) Oh and check out that tile! You don’t see flooring like that every day.

Ashley from Decorology found this space along with more photos from the rest of the house from Elle Decor. Check out her post for more loveliness!

Before & After: Mad Cakes Shelf

Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009

Check out this beautiful and fabulous before and after from one of my new favorite blogs Mad Cake.

This was her first make over project and I think it came out so lovely! She received this shelf from her uncle and I can see why she would snatch it up. It definitely has charm even before the paint job. I really love the the pretty teal color she chose and how she decided to decorate it with picture frames and knickknacks. This definitely motivates me to go and paint a shelf. How about you?

Check this out!

I am so jealous and in complete awe of Viv’s new studio space. Not only did it turn out beautiful she did it all under $900!!  I really need an area to hang all my fabric up and I love the idea of getting wooden hangers for this. She is so organized and I love her affordable ideas like the butterfly mobile and adding wallpaper to her drawers and painting existing furniture. She really did a great job!

Isn’t it all so wonderful?

Before & After: Bloggers Renovations

Tuesday, June 16th, 2009

Two of my favorite blogs have shown their furniture renovations and I felt the need to share them with you because they are just so fabulous! Christina from Down and Out Chic (I just posted a Lovely Look of her today on my Design Lovely blog) renovated this old fashioned side table. By painting it white and adding some fun paper it completely transformed the piece and brought it into the 21st century.

Then over at Knack I saw this dresser which I really like and I love how she distressed the finish and changed out the knobs. It is such a great piece of furniture. Those circles are just too cool.

So if you love looking at Before and Afters I definitely recommend checking these two out. They rock!

Before & After: Jolena’s Stool and Dining Chair

Tuesday, June 9th, 2009

I was checking out people who follow this blog and I came across the very talented and crafty Jolena from Black Ribbon Interiors. She has done some incredible renovations on her furniture and she shows her before and afters on her blog. I know I have said this before but a little paint and upholstery goes such a long way! I love the fabric she chooses and it is so nice to see a chair have a new life.

Great job Jolena! Can’t wait to see your coordinating chair that goes with this adorable stool.

Before & After: Framed Fabric Art

Wednesday, May 27th, 2009

One of my most favorite blogging buddies Christina from Down and Out Chic just added some very cool art to her living room space. She ended up framing some beautiful yellow flower print fabric to bring in more color to her walls. I am so inspired now to do this to my own living space because I love pretty fabric, and easy to do crafts. This one would be perfect for me.

Before & After: Kelly + Olive’s Fireplace

Tuesday, May 12th, 2009

This stylish fireplace before and after is by the lovely Courtney from Kelly + Olive. She gives us step by step instructions on how to make our own and she makes it look so easy! I just love how well that lime green paint color looks with her new patterned wallpapered fireplace. She actually used gift wrap which is a great way to save money and it works perfectly for small projects like this one.

Such a clever idea and her styling is gorgeous! The cute yellow accents really make that area pop. What a transformation! Great job Courtney!

Before & After: My Bedroom!

Monday, April 13th, 2009

You may think I am crazy to paint and redo my bedroom a week before my wedding but sometimes when I get a little fire under my butt I can get a lot done! We are having guests stay with us and they will be staying in our bedroom when we are gone so I wanted our bedroom to look really special because they are on vacation! It isn’t quite where I want it to be but it is definitely getting there and boy does paint make a huge difference.

My dear friend Anita Marci painted these beautiful banana paintings for us as a wedding present and she actually used my paint swatch and that little bolster pillow as color inspiration. She even had the cleverist idea to put books underneath our table lamps that are quite small for the side tables so they feel much more balanced. The tables and lamps were given to me so although I am not crazy about them they are here to stay until I find and can afford the right ones. My bedroom is actually a loft type space so where you see the drapery is where you look down into the living room so I really wanted to provide some privacy while our guests were here as well. I can actually sleep in in this bedroom now because it can get really dark which I have to say I really like.

Before and After: Peacock Stool

Wednesday, March 18th, 2009

One of my favorite bloggers Jessica McKay from the Homebound posted a little stool she completely revamped a few days ago. I think she did a fabulous job making it unique and a one of kind piece. I love how she modernized it by painting the feet navy blue and upholstering it in a solid fabric with a little whimsy by painting a beautiful peacock on the top of it. That is so clever and creative! You can see more of Jessica’s beautiful posts HERE.

Before and After: Stenciled Upholstered Chair

Wednesday, March 11th, 2009

Over at the wonderful blog Maya Made was a post she did on a chair she reupholstered. She even includes directions on how to make your own. I just love that it went from a ho hum ordinary chair to something so unique and beautiful! If you are in the mood to make something lovely you should check out her blog for more fun projects. Her favorite is stamping and stenciling fabric and she does a fabulous job with it making it fun and more modern. I usually get turned off by craft magazines because the things they make don’t interest me but I feel really inspired on her blog!
