Room of the Day: Beautiful Nursery
Monday, October 5th, 2009Ooh la la!
This is one lucky baby! I found this space while I was looking for inspiration for a nursery that I am designing for a client in LA. Unfortunately I am working with a baby boy in mind and not a baby girl or I would have loved to use this beautiful lavender color as well. The design is from Little Crown Interiors and they specialize in baby and children design. I would imagine that this would be a great niche to be in. Everyone wants to have the best for a baby and when your pregnant I would imagine that decorating the nursery can be a lot to tackle.
There are so many great details in the space including the fabric ceiling (swoon!) and the fold down changer table. Beautiful design and I can see the baby growing into the space later on as well.

To me, this nursery looks way too adult to be right for a baby’s room. Replace the crib with a bed and you have a beautiful space for an adult. But for a baby? I’m not so sure. I agree that it’s lovely, but it seems like the design is more for the parent’s benefit than for the kids…

I love the unexpectedness of this color for a baby and the plushness of the upholstery. Kind of a novel idea and I think I’d be less likely to tire of it than baby pastels.

I absolutely adore the nursery! The fabric on the ceiling is so luxurious and the baby will definitely be able to grow with this room. It is absolutely amazing!

A gorgeous room! Although some may say this is a bit adult in style, it can be easily transitioned into a room that would work for a young girl. I think it is fun to navigate away from the traditional pinks and blues of nurseries. (I’m saying this as an expecting mom with every intention of creating a soft, soothing space for baby that does not include these colors - not that there’s anything wrong with them, of course!)
