This has got to be one of the coolest spaces ever!

Can you imagine how nice this would be on your feet to have a sand carpet? Not only that but it is entirely open on the sides. I can’t even imagine living in a space like this. What about theft? What about privacy? What about bugs? Could you live here?
This space makes me think of this Restaurant here on Maui called Hula Grill and they have a barefoot area where it is all sand underneath your toes. I love going there and eating their fish and chips and sashimi and taking my flip flops off. It’s a great feeling. Have you ever been to Hula Grill or been to a restaurant that did this?

A design trend that has snook up on me is the one where designers put there indoor furniture in their outdoor spaces. I am quite keen on this look and I love the idea of moving your pretty traditional furniture outside for a summer party or gathering like what Lola B did here. She said it made the soiree feel more homey and comfortable. I can only imagine how nice it would be!
It seems like other bloggers have caught on to this trend including Apartment Therapy and Simply Grove. I would check out their links for more inspiration if you are planning on implementing this idea for your next shindig. :)

So what do you think? Would you consider bringing some of your indoor furniture outside for the summer or temporarily for a party?

I am really enjoying these beautiful pieces of home decor and furniture with a modern Asian aesthetic from Jardins en Fleur (pron: Zhar-dans Ahn Flur). I especially love this purple tea set. So adorable!
On their website they explain the meaning of their name:
“From the French it literally translates to “Gardens in Flower.” That’s when gardens are at their pinnacle of beauty. And “gardens in flower” sounds so much better in French. N’est ce pas?”
- Simon P. Scott
If you are loving this look as much as me then you should check out their site for more of their lovely products: http://www.jardinsenfleur.com

I am loving all these rich blue interiors that I came across this week and they are so pretty next to gold, browns and oranges. The balance of the cool hues next to the warm hues gets me every time.

Karlene over at Bloom Studio insisted that we check out the website of Kelly Hoppen and I am sure glad I did because I came across so many gorgeous furniture and decor. Kelly Hoppen who is a British designer has definitely created a signature style and you can see it in her interior design and furniture design. She not only has a shop, designs spaces, and writes books but she also has a design school as well!

Check out that see through skirt!

The lighting in this restaurant is phenomenal.

Just a few unique things you will find in her shop.

This beautiful soft blue space has so many gorgeous details.

I especially love the blue flower pattern on that fireplace. And lets talk about that fireplace! I have never seen anything like it. It looks like an armoire and it feels like it was the inspiration for the space. The designer pulled the gold circle and brought it in the space by adding a gold mirror.
I really can imagine sitting here chatting with friends over a cup of Earl gray. It also looks like a great place to read a book like Jane Eyre or Pride and Prejudice.

There seems to be a trend with colorful chandeliers and I am trying to figure out how I would implement this sparkling array of hues in a space. Maybe it would look pretty in a child’s bedroom or how fun would it be to have one of these light fixtures hanging from a large tree or pergola for a birthday party? How would you spec one of these and do you have a favorite that you think you could work with better than another?
