dwellings and décor

Since I was in the picture taking interior mode I decided to take some photos of my living room. I really never realized how revealing this was but hey why not right? The before shot was more like an in-process shot. At the time I felt I only needed a few more touches. Remember my side table before and after? You can see in the before I had a tablecloth over the flat painted blue one that was given to me because well it just didn’t go. I really hated the tablecloth though so painting that side table was definitely on my first things to do.

I then purchased some new green drapery from Bed Bath & Beyond to replace the ones that came with the loft and I also purchased a dark brown lamp and brown pillows from Ross. Those new flower green pillows are from Target. The chairs were from a Ritz Carlton remodel blowout and they were reupholstered by a neighbor and given to me. Fortunately I like the colors and the pattern will work for now. I do want to eventually get some slipper chairs. Not sure what color to get though because I think if they are next to the drapery it might be too much green and then I also don’t want them to be the same color as the sofa because I don’t care for matchy matchy and dark brown might be too dark. It might be nice to have them in more of a medium brown more like the pillows and then add green bolster pillows. What do you guys think?
