Saturday, May 30th, 2009

As Summer gets closer we start to see a lot more brighter colored interiors. I was fortunate enough to come across quite a few lovely ones from this week.

1. One of my new favorite blogs is Simply Hue and she has a great eye for color. This dining room she posted is delicious!
2. I adore those little green stools in this living room photo from the Inspired Room.
3. If you are looking to do a built in for your home then you might find this inspirational post from Decorology very useful.
4. Photos from a very colorful and very fun event was posted on one of my favorite blogs Bloom Studio.
5. New decor from Designers Guild was shown on Simply Grove.
6. A very vibrant and beautiful Bed and Breakfast was featured on Twin’s Garden.

All of these interiors definitely made my weekend much more cheery. Hope it made yours as well!

Do you love modern design with vibrant color and nature influences? If so then I think you will really like these pieces from DZINE.

“Their beautiful European furniture can be found in an airy 10,000 sq. ft. showroom in the San Francisco design district. Whitewashed walls and bare concrete floors create a neutral backdrop. Simple, transparent hangings define space. The effect is minimal, yet inviting.”

Before & After: Framed Fabric Art

Wednesday, May 27th, 2009

One of my most favorite blogging buddies Christina from Down and Out Chic just added some very cool art to her living room space. She ended up framing some beautiful yellow flower print fabric to bring in more color to her walls. I am so inspired now to do this to my own living space because I love pretty fabric, and easy to do crafts. This one would be perfect for me.

Interior Spaces: Pikku’s NSS Booth

Tuesday, May 26th, 2009

I have really been enjoying Oh So Beautiful Paper’s blog the past week with all of her lovely photos of the National Stationary Show. There is so much incredible design in one place including interiors, graphics, and textiles. Interiors being in the booths and graphics being what they are selling. I have to say though that Pikku’s booth is my all time favorite. This has got to be the cutest booth ever! It’s so clean, homey and colorful. Perfect environment for a little shop.

Interior of the Day: Lovely Patterned Bedroom

Friday, May 22nd, 2009

This bedroom stopped me in my tracks when I saw it on Design is Mine recently. Maybe it’s that I have been all about purple this week but I think what I really love about this interior is that the floral headboard/screen coordinates so well with that patterned blue purple rug. I don’t know if I would have ever thought to put them together but it works really well. I am also digging on that door and trim in a soft pink which flows so beautifully with the pink from the headboard/screen. Isn’t this space just lovely?

Inspiration for Madison’s Nursery

Wednesday, May 20th, 2009

My friend Erica is having a baby in three weeks and she just completed her nursery. I just got an email from her saying that she is sending me photos soon and I am so excited to see the completed design. Erica is a wedding coordinator (my previous one) so she is super creative and has great taste and style! She has been asking for a few suggestions along the way so I have been able to see the space in it’s progress days and she even made a cute inspiration board which I will show you when I get her photos.

Erica didn’t want your typical nursery. She wanted something chic, elegant yet comfortable. Her main inspiration was this first photo on the left from Domino and the elements she liked was that lovely shade of purple, the stunning chandelier, and accents of black and white. I decided to gather up a few more lovely inspirations that use similar elements to create a beautiful and royal feeling interior.

Room by Color: Natural Green Living Rooms

Tuesday, May 19th, 2009

As I start to think about what I want to do in my living room I decided to look through some of my natural green living room inspiration images. Here are some living rooms that I think are the most inspirational. I mainly like them for their green color but I also like the wood tones and the way the designer chose to color balance the space. I also really love the contrast that a lot of these interiors have mainly the ones with the dark woods and light colored upholstery. So rich and calming!
