I have been contemplating hanging an empty frame collage on my very tall wall. I love this idea because it keeps from looking too busy and overdone and I like the simple beauty of the concept. It also seems quite affordable if your willing to search for frames and possibly paint them to achieve the look you want. Here are a few from my inspiration folder.
