Product Trend: Floral Drum Lights

Monday, February 23rd, 2009

Spring will be here before we know it and I can’t wait to start seeing more floral decor in magazines and on the blogosphere.  There is something about a floral print that makes me feel happy inside. Here are some lovely floral drum lights including a Vintage vinyl wallpaper lampshade from Draw Flowers, a silk printed table lamp from Neenas Lighting, and two other gorgeous lights from Design Public.

I love the descriptions on Design Public. Here are few:

“There’s just something about Parisian café style–it’s so elegant and refined, but still casual. It calls to mind groups of students sitting in loose circles, their hands wrapped around steaming mugs of coffee to warm them up on a misty morning, discussing politics and world literature.”

“Those crystal chandeliers that look like concentric rings of glass panels arranged in a stalactite formation are lovely, but they don’t really work in most homes in this century (performing arts centers are another matter). The idea is just so nice, though, that Lights Up! couldn’t resist creating a modern version–on a much more sensible scale and in a delightful selection of prints. And so the Deco pendant lamp was born. It’ll add class and whimsy both to any space that needs lighting up.”

That would be such a fun job to write quirky descriptions for products. You just don’t see it online that much and I think it’s really smart for people who want to sell their products since there is not a real human being there guiding your purchase.
