Romance? Suspense? Thriller? Self-help?
One book. Two books. Three books. Four.
So many choices, so little space and time. It’s just not practical to carry this many books around on a business trip. With ridiculous checked bag fees and more ‘important’ things to carry around, taking books on a business trip just isn’t a priority. But it should be.
How nice would it be to have the book you feel like reading on a whim right at your fingertips?
- Winding down in your hotel room after a long day of meetings? Download a novel to your Kindle.
- Feel like reading the latest book on marketing while waiting for your flight? Buy it instantly on your Kindle.
- Want to catch up on the New York Times? Kiiiiiindle!
Think about it. Only $299 on Amazon.com.
There’s nothing worse than being on a business trip and finding yourself accidently staying at Hotel Party Central. With rip-roaring drunk 20-something co-eds running half-naked through the halls, you can’t join in on the fun or sleep because you have an 8am meeting with a multi-million dollar contract on the line.
Crap, you should have checked TripAdvisor.
Things to pay attention to when checking TripAdvisor:
- Ratings- What is the overall customer opinion?
- Reviews- read through several pages before drawing conclusions as there are quite a few people who actually complain because the desk agent supposedly gave them ‘the eye.’
- Pictures- Does the place look like somewhere you’d want to stay or does it scream c**kroach brothel?
- Type of trip- Make sure your hotel falls in the ‘business’ category to avoid any Hotel Party Central experiences.

Wow, those Beatles certainly have quite a bit of staying power! I’d love to be Paul McCartney collecting those royalty checks! Not only is everyone still buying and playing their music, but Cirque du Soleil has LOVE, a permanent show at the Mirage in Las Vegas paying tribute to the Beatles.
I went on a business trip to Blog World Expo in Las Vegas last weekend and had the opportunity to see Cirque du Soleil* LOVE, which I highly recommend! It was my third Cirque show and doesn’t disappoint. It’s fun, fast, silly, surreal, a nice break from your busy life, and totally worth your time. That is, of course, if you love the Beatles as much as I do. Otherwise, check out the other Cirque du Soleil shows now happening in Las Vegas.
Check out my complete review and vlog for LOVE.
(*Thanks to @CirqueduSoleil for the free tickets to review the show!)

What would happen if you were 30,000 feet up in the air, finishing an important last-minute presentation, and your laptop battery went ka-put?
Gulp. Absolutely nothing you can do about it unless you happen to be sitting in First Class next to a power port. But, with the corporate economy in shambles and the small business owner’s budget…chances are you’re flying Cattle Class.
So screwed. Unless, of course, you have an extra laptop battery! Do you have one? If you don’t you might want to reconsider.
