picture-19So much of what we go through is how we interpret the world and not actually what is really going on.

Monday, for me, has been the Big Bad Wolf these past few weeks. It’s a simple case of “so much to do, so little time.” I’ve been thinking about it a lot lately, particularly on Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays. I simply feel overwhelmed and it’s my own fault.

Monday doesn’t have to be this way.

By Friday, I typically have a good picture of what will need to be done on Monday. Things aren’t really that bad or overwhelming, I just need to take everything one step at a time. As the Kenyans would say, Hakuna Matata. No worries.

Starting this week, I’m putting an end to this newly found madness. There’s no reason, so I’m changing my ways. It’s all in the mind.

Black is this year’s pink just like Monday is the new Friday. Think about it.

I recently went to a business-related function where I saw a women dressed somewhat like this:

Seriously though…

I’m not a clothing conservative, but I’m always shocked when people don’t dress perfectly, well….umm, “business-like” at a “business” function.

This outfit would be so “fetch” for a gathering with the gals. But business?

I’m sure she sold a lot of insurance that evening… ;-)

I might be a modern woman, but I’m an old-fashioned kinda gal when it comes to my schedule and calendars.

Is it just me or is the Blackberry calendar really annoying to use? I find it’s okay for a reminder, but that’s about all.

I once tried to use the Blackberry calendar and sync it to my computer but failed miserably and lost all the data in my phone. #fail

It’s not funny.

So how do I plan, schedule, and pencil you in? I use a weekly planner and a writing utensil. It’s pretty groovy and my grandma would use it too.

At the end of the year, it goes in a box and only sees the light of day during tax time. So easy.

My system works for me.

Last week I offered to babysit and today was the day.

I don’t know what in the world possessed me. Just this past Thursday I met one month old Munchk’n for the first time and he was sleeping soundly. He opened his eyes once or twice and looked around the room and then went back to sleep. That was pretty much it. That and the fact that he’s so gosh darn cute!

So I offered to babysit. I don’t mind having Munchk’n keep me company in my home office while I work on a few projects, blog, send some emails. Easy enough because he sleeps.

Wrong.

Munchk’n, according to Mommy, didn’t sleep very well last night and arrived at my home this AM, a tad bit cranky.

He only wanted me to hold him, so that’s what I did. The entire morning. And no, he didn’t sleep. I also discovered one-handed typing isn’t for me.

Clearly, cranky babes and biz don’t mix.

Just so you know.

But he’s still gosh darn cute! #cheekpinch

Have you tried the babes & biz c**ktail? Share some stories!

Every businesswoman should have a list of awesome business blogs bookmarked on her browser. Here are a few of my favorites:

Businessballs. They provide “free career help, business training, organizational development - inspirational, innovative ideas, materials, exercises, tools, templates - free and fun.”

Entrepreneur Blog. Your source for small business right from the resource. If you don’t already receive Entrepreneur (the magazine) make sure you subscribe to some of their blogs.

Small Business Administration. I’ve taken advantage of their services in the past and like what I’ve seen so far. They are there for you, so use both their website and local office as a resource. My favorite business plan template can also be found on their website, so be sure to check it out!

The Notebook. What would I do without it?

No, I’m not talking about the movie. I’m talking about my actual Notebook with a capital ‘N.’ Everywhere I go I carry a little notebook with me to write down business ideas, random thoughts, things to do, or whatever comes to mind. I find if I don’t write something down immediately, a great idea is bound to be lost forever.

A lot of people tell me they use their iPhone or another smartphone to write down ideas. I can’t use my Blackberry because I can’t peck on the keyboard fast enough. My ideas come at a mile a minute and if I don’t have a keyboard or pen and paper ready, my frustration grows.

How do you keep track of your ideas?

Right now I’m giving thanks to all of you.

Thanks for giving me this great space to allow my creative juices to flow, voice what’s on my insanely active mind, and tell you what’s up in the business world.

Blogging with Twolia has been one heck of a ride.

I’ve had a great time being a part of Twolia during the continual growth. I’ve been here as new bloggers were brought onboard to unleash their sweet fury, share their fashion fetishes, and delve into TMI regarding not-so-savory relationships and savvy celebrity gossip among other topics.  Now there’s also a store, videos, music, and astrology reports.

Growth sweet growth.

But, as nothing is permanent in life, with growth comes inevitable change. My life is busy these days and so is business. Because of this, I have found myself taking a look at la dolce vita and thinking about my own growth and changes.

Some things in my life will stay very much the way they are while other things, naturally, will have to go.

Among some of these changes, I have decided, is to bid farewell to my Diva Mogul blogging days here at Twolia.

I’ve had fun being a part of the blogging team and virtually meeting so many magnificent fellow Diva Moguls.

Know that this isn’t the end of me! I’ll be lurking around Twolia from time to time, reading and commenting or listening to the latest tunes from groovy chicks like you.

Take all this as further proof that…You can take the girl out of Twolia, but you can’t take the Twolia out of the girl!

You can also keep in touch with me at EntrepreneurGoddess.com. My contact information is on that site, so take note. And, as usual, you can follow me on Twitter @egoddess. ;-)

[Cue the Sound of Music] So long, farewell, auf wiedersehen good-bye…

Wishing you success in business and in life,

Katie :-)

Lisa Rinna should keep it real, it would do her body and business well. Yesterday morning she tweeted this photo of herself ‘au natural,’ before her not-so-glam squad arrived. Who knew she looks so pretty under all that fit-for-a-drag-queen makeup?

I swear she’d find more work in Hollywood if she stopped doing whatever it is she does to her body.

Or this?

Lisa Rinna, if you’re listening, stop the injections and surgeries! You don’t need it!

Rinna uses Twitter to keep in touch with her fans as well as to show off her store, Belle Gray’s, latest merchandise. Follow her and follow me!

picture-35Do you want Beyoncé, Mariah, Jay-Z, Angelina, or George to get their hands on your products?

Thousands of companies compete for celebrity attention at few dozen highly coveted events each year. Whether it’s a swag bag for the Oscars or a coveted spot in a swag suite at Sundance, space is limited.

Getting your products into celebrity swag bags isn’t easy and it costs a lot of out-of-pocket money. It’s a gamble because you never know if there will be a return on your investment. However, if a celebrity is caught wearing your label or mentions your product, the return could get very sweet.

Click on the link below for more details on how to give your brand exposure in front of celebrities. Always remember that industry connections are key!

The Europeans know about quality of life. They’re perfectly productive, yet still take time out of the day to enjoy life. Just take a look at the way a few European countries dine mid-day:

  • In France, offices close and shops lock up everyday between the hours of 12pm-2pm.
  • Most French return home at noon to eat a nice home cooked meal with their families.
  • In Spain, shops close between the hours of 2pm-5pm for the siesta.
  • Many French public schools offer multi-course meals at lunch which include an appetizer, main dish, choice of side dishes, bread, cheese, fruit, salad, yogurt, and a selection of desserts.

Despite taking (by American standards) insanely long lunch breaks in the middle of the day, the European economy is doing just fine.

Is there a lesson to be learned?
