Are you considering creating your own videos or show here on Twolia and/or on another site like YouTube? You might find consistency and frequent video posts are the key to becoming an online video sensation. Here’s why:

Humans are creatures of habit. They like stability and have a tendency to remember something if it’s part of their daily or weekly schedule. If you make it a point to post your videos on a regular basis (meaning daily or weekly), people are more likely to come back and see what’s new.

People want to feel identified with you.
Why do you tune into your favorite television show every single week? Most likely because you either feel identified with the characters or are seeking entertainment. Use this same logic to get people to watch your videos.

People who have been successful in the online video world have mastered the art of giving people what they want. How will you give them what they want?

Right now I’m giving thanks to all of you.

Thanks for giving me this great space to allow my creative juices to flow, voice what’s on my insanely active mind, and tell you what’s up in the business world.

Blogging with Twolia has been one heck of a ride.

I’ve had a great time being a part of Twolia during the continual growth. I’ve been here as new bloggers were brought onboard to unleash their sweet fury, share their fashion fetishes, and delve into TMI regarding not-so-savory relationships and savvy celebrity gossip among other topics.  Now there’s also a store, videos, music, and astrology reports.

Growth sweet growth.

But, as nothing is permanent in life, with growth comes inevitable change. My life is busy these days and so is business. Because of this, I have found myself taking a look at la dolce vita and thinking about my own growth and changes.

Some things in my life will stay very much the way they are while other things, naturally, will have to go.

Among some of these changes, I have decided, is to bid farewell to my Diva Mogul blogging days here at Twolia.

I’ve had fun being a part of the blogging team and virtually meeting so many magnificent fellow Diva Moguls.

Know that this isn’t the end of me! I’ll be lurking around Twolia from time to time, reading and commenting or listening to the latest tunes from groovy chicks like you.

Take all this as further proof that…You can take the girl out of Twolia, but you can’t take the Twolia out of the girl!

You can also keep in touch with me at EntrepreneurGoddess.com. My contact information is on that site, so take note. And, as usual, you can follow me on Twitter @egoddess. ;-)

[Cue the Sound of Music] So long, farewell, auf wiedersehen good-bye…

Wishing you success in business and in life,

Katie :-)

General Motors has officially introduced plans to debut the Volt, an electric car said to get 230 miles per gallon in the city.

With GM’s very poor track record when it comes to introducing green technology to the market, this announcement is somewhat surprising. Could it be GM finally ‘gets’ what they need to do to survive in this new sustainable economy?

The cost of buying a new Volt when it debuts in 2011 will set you back about $40,000.  Charging the electric vehicle will cost about $2.75 per 100 miles.

I’ve been MIA for the past couple of days on a recon mission at Comic Con 2009. :-)

A press pass gave me opportunity to go where not every Comic Con badge holder gets to go. Unfortunately, I still had to wait on most of the same long lines.

First, I saw Sigourney Weaver (Avatar), Elizabeth Mitchell (Lost), Zoe Saldana (Avatar), and Eliza Deshku (Buffy, Dollhouse). Check out the video and read more here.

Then, I took a front row center seat at the screening of The Middle, a new comedy on ABC set to air September 30th. Check out the pilot preview, it’s great!

In the exhibit hall, I went on a mission to find the guys and girls with the most creative ideas. ‘Hold your pea’ for these 2am ideas… (video)

And finally, I searched high and low to find the hottest and most powerful superheroines at Comic Con 2009. (video!)

Other highlights include meeting YouTube superstars Marina at Hot for Words, Natalie at Community Channel, and Philip DeFranco.

To sum up my 4 days at Comic Con, I will say this…I’m exhausted.

the grotto at glen ivy

Yesterday I was missing in action and I have a very, very good excuse.

Glen Ivy Hot Springs Spa graciously opened their doors (and exclusive cabanas) to the Southern California ladies on Twitter for their first ever #spatweetup.

All of us are busy career women and some have families, but everyone yesterday recognized the need for “me” time and “girl” time.  We booked massages, relaxed in the mud & mineral baths, moisturized in the grotto, and enjoyed every relaxing moment of the day.

Today I feel relaxed, yet revitalized and productive. Everybody needs a workday break…

When will you take yours?

…and follow me on Twitter.

Apparently, living large is not the answer.

Nebraska’s conservative attitude towards money has paid off. MainStreet.com has rated the state, financially speaking, the happiest in the United States.

The Happiness Index is based on rates of unemployment, amount of foreclosures, and non-mortgage debt. Living large, the index shows, does not amount to happiness.

Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, and Hawaii are also considered among the happiest places in America. Rhode Island, California (*see below), Nevada, Florida & Oregon were rated the lowest due to the culture of people living beyond their means.

*Think: luxury vehicles, heavily mortgaged mansions, silicon, and The (not so) Real Housewives of Orange County. Watch them spend more money in an attempt to catch up!  ;-)

Every Diva Mogul needs a mentor, so don’t even think about starting a business without one!

Some say you should have a mentor for every aspect of your life, but I wouldn’t go that far. I’d back it up and say every gal should have a mentor for the most important aspects of her life, like business.

Whether you’re a happy cubicle cowgirl or a cutting edge solopreneur, finding the right mentor can play an important and instrumental part in your career growth.

My favorite networking group, the Women’s Global Network, recently launched a fantastic mentor/mentee program. The results? Check out this video:

What do you get when you mix 5 eager entrepreneur-minded women with dinner and a bottle of wine? The Diva Mogul Crew.

Tonight I’m off to hang with my Diva Mogul Crew.

Once a month we rotate hosting duties for an evening of learning, collaboration, networking, great conversation, and the occasional piece of juicy gossip. The host supplies the main course while the rest of us bring apps, side dishes, desserts, and vino.

We’re all powerhouse entrepreneurs, so we get the trials and tribulations of owning a business. Chances are, someone else in the group has ‘been there, done that’ and has a few words of wisdom. We toast to success (small and large), learn from experience, and introduce the other Diva Moguls to the many people we know.

Allow me to introduce my Diva Mogul Crew: An athletic financial guru, an insanely savvy CPA, a sassy stylist with A-list Hollywood connections (and free swag!), an unstoppable realtor (Queen) who is thriving in the current housing market, and of course MOI. :-)

Susan Boyle- Britain's Got Talent

Did you see 47-year-old (unemployed) Susan Boyle on Britain’s Got Talent this past week?

Mean spirited people jeered inwardly and rolled their eyes as the single lady from a rural English village strutted on stage and announced her desire: to be a professional singer.

When she started singing, jaws dropped, goose bumps mounted, and guilt overtook the formerly snide audience. This is truly another perfect example of why you should never judge a book by the cover.

And, at 47 years of age, Susan Boyle finally has the career of her dreams. It’s never too late.

Entrepreneurs are leading change throughout the world.  While some business-minded people think only of themselves and their own bottom line, often at the expense of others, it is refreshing and exciting to know that social entrepreneurs are truly tackling social issues.

What is a social entrepreneur?

“Rather than leaving societal needs to the government or business sectors, social entrepreneurs find what is not working and solve the problem by changing the system, spreading the solution, and persuading entire societies to take new leaps.”

-Ashoka (for more information and an in-depth definition, visit their website)

A good friend of mine recently left Seattle for a new life in India working at DIAL 1298 FOR AMBULANCE.  The company provides ambulance services to everyone, whether rich or poor. This is THE FIRST ambulance company in India to not discriminate based on ability to pay. Because ambulances in India are traditionally used only in emergencies for the rich or to collect the dead, DIAL 1298 is determined to change this societal norm.

Here is what my friend, Sarah Sieloff, has to say about social entrepreneurship and DIAL 1298:

“For a long time, I have observed artificial barriers between the business and non-profit worlds. It’s as though mixing the best of the two might contaminate and compromise both. Yet what better way for non-profits to guarantee their sustainability than to borrow some business acumen, and what better way for business (ideally) to demonstrate social responsibility than to learn something from the non-profit sector.”

What are your thoughts on social entrepreneurship?
