Honeymoon in Ireland: Days 1-5

My Work

Our Honeymoon to Ireland was absolutely amazing! Even though we had a great time we are happy to be back and now we are just trying to adjust to the 11 hour time difference. I have so many lovely photos to share so I thought I would start off with some of my favorites from the first 5 days.

1-dublin

This was our first real day in Dublin and I was wide awake at 4 am. So unlike me! I decided to start touring the city early and came across this amazing sunrise.

Ryan and I aren’t huge city people so we were glad to find the beautiful and blooming St. Stephens Green in Dublin.

4-churchdublin

The churches are like none I have ever seen. We ended up leaving the city early to explore the country side because we got a little antsy once we did what we wanted to do in Dublin within 2 days.

5-kilkenny

This is the first little town we stayed in called Kilkenny. Such a cute and colorful small town.

6-castleinkilkenny

This is the castle across the street from our bed and breakfast.

7-kilkennycashel

8-rockofcashel

After we left Kilkenny we ventured on over to the famous Rock of Cashel. A castle literally built on a big rock. Such an amazing landmark!

This was probably the coldest day on the trip so we needed coffee and hot tea immediately. This adorable cafe was conveniently located right next to the Rock of Cashel.

Well I hope you enjoyed these first few photos and I will have more to show tomorrow!

WOW!!! Rachel you are becoming such an amazing photographer!!! I love all the color/contrast in each of your photos!!! (if you don’t mind me asking…what type of camera do you have?)

my favorite is the little town Kilkenny and the smaller photo of the green building as well as the little cemetery… I think at the church. Absolutely stunning!!! Oh, and the castle… I love those as well.. so dreamy and mysterious. Magical even! Great job! I’m so happy for you and Ryan! =)

    xoxo

I’ve always wanted to visit Ireland! Did you know that Koreans say that the Irish and Koreans have similar drinking habits? In fact they claim that the Irish and the Koreans drink a third of the alcohol in the world!

The saying goes, “We drink when we’re sad, we drink when we’re happy, we drink to celebrate, we drink to eat, we drink when we’re bored, we drink to make friends, we even drink to get sober, but mainly we drink for any excuse at all!”

Getting back to the actual subject…Amazing photographs! Ireland is more beautiful than I imagined! What a lovely village!

My favorite…the Rock at Cashel. “A house built on a rock, lasts forever.”…paraphrased from the Bible. Even in life…if we have a solid base, we can endure anything. Don’t you think?

I thought it was a great metaphor for your marriage. A marriage built on a solid mass will last forever! Perhaps this castle will be the symbol for your enduring life together!

Have a wonderful and gentle day!

These pictures are surreal! I studied abroad in Scotland during college and visited Ireland one weekend, but didn’t get to see as much as I would have liked. Your pictures are proof that I need to head back one day and make a real vacation of it. Glad you had fun!
