War on Acne: An Update from the trenches….
So yeah, sometimes I’m a bit slow (if you haven’t already guessed)…After seeing ads in the backs of magazines for this classic for YEARS…. I’d also been told by more than a few folks how great this “old school” beauty classic works. I finally made it into Ulta to shell out the $17 bucks for it. SO GLAD…..Mario Badescu’s Drying Lotion has done a great job clearing up the mess that is my face the last week or so!
The combo of salicylic acid, sulfur and camphor manage to dry zits up without irritation. “Sensitive Sally’s” use with caution though..this stuff’ll burn yer nose hairs right out of the gate!
What’s your latest weapon in the war? Do tell….
Be Beautiful Y’all….

i’ve actually been digging a glycerine bar (akin to the orangey neutrogena one) from the dollar store. i found it in the ethnic section and honestly wasn’t expecting much, but my skin’s loving it.

Don’t feel too bad, I only just discovered it last year!
Looooove this product, its a total lifesaver. I’ve been hooked on Roc’s Daily Resurfacing Disks for a couple years now, I use one every other morning and love how gentle it is, yet it really sloughs everything off!

I’ve had surprisingly great results with the Medicated Acne Gel from Equate (Wal-Mart’s store brand.) It’s two dollars for a bottle, and not really a gel. It’s a sort of gritty lotion with 10% benzoyl peroxide and it cleared my skin up like nothing else has.

You know I thought about getting that other one Lulu…but this one is doing a great job on my cystic “friends”. It dries them up until they peel and and get smaller…also really helps with the inflammation…and since it’s a spot treatment I haven’t had any problems with dryness. Pretty sure it’s the sulfur…seems to help with inflammation way more than bp or salicylic.
