Drugstore Beauty Duty: The Weekly Top 5

Hello my beauties….Hope you all had a fabulous 4th! It’s been a long 3 months…still not in our home yet, need I say more? So what’s a girl to do when she is waiting around in 105 degree weather for her house to be finished? Get the kids in the car and head to Super Target for some quality beauty-isle time (and ply the kiddos w/ Starbucks goodies in the cart). Here are the highlights of my haul:
1. Even though my hide is still chapped at Sally Hansen for getting rid of my beloved Cornsilk, I did pick up their new Shea Butter Rapid Finish Nail Color Dryer (<$7). With the delicious scent of real almond oil, this spray did a great job drying my nails to the touch in 30 seconds while moisturizing my cuticles..(plus I like that it’s not aerosal)!
2. Did I tell you that I finally got my hands (or rather brushes) into Covergirl’s latest, Olay Simply Ageless Sculpting Blush in Lush Berry ($13.99)? I wasn’t totally convinced at first (even though I am a huge fan of the foundation) but the blush is just as fabulous…Can I just say that it gives the natural flush of a cheek stain with the ease of application of a powder? REALLY. Just remember one of the Golden Rules of makeup….Cream before powder never fear, powder before cream never…..Well, you’ll just end up with a big splotchy mess all over your face (couldn’t think of a rhyme…sorry)!

3. FINALLY, after hearing so many of you rave (Beth) about Boot’s Quick Thinking 4-in1 Wipes (<$6) I know why. These puppies take it ALL off, super-fast and super-easy (just like I like my men…lol!).
4. Confession- No matter what ANY beauty expert says (that toners are useless), I will be addicted to them FOR LIFE (as long as they are alcohol-free of course). I was tickled pink to find Boots Expert Sensitive Gentle Refreshing Toner at Target this trip. Not only is it the only drugstore toner that I have ever found that doesn’t contain Panthenol (it can make some of us break out)… it’s only $3.99!!!! Score one for moi.

5. So shaving the ol’ gams rates right up there with flossing most days for yours trully…and then there’s the lotion routine after. Well, it’s not nearly as laborious with Skintimate’s latest Moisturizing Cream Shave (<$4). I barely needed lotion after my shave…life changing? No, life enhancing? In a totally vain, superfical kind of way!
So there you have the Top 5. I am SO behind on the blogging my beauties…I have so many great things in store once I get moved back into my house (hopefully this week???). I’ll be covering the Latisse & Make-a-Wish event here in Dallas, interviewing the one-and-only Anastasia Soare, plus tons of other new product discoveries…So stay tuned!
Be Beautiful Y’all……

Glad to see you’ve finally reviewed my fav…Boot’s No.7 4-in-1 wipes. These babies stay in my travel bag and in the bathroom.
They ROCK!
So glad you approve!

I am really liking the CG blush, too. It is much more pigmented than my SK or NARS cream, so I get a smidge heavy-fingered, but I’ll get it figured out just right, soon.

Use a blush brush with the cream…it seems odd but it will give you a lighter, more even finish than if you use your fingers or a sponge….grab a little with your brush and then tap off the excess on the back of your hand then dot onto your apples!!!!

I’ll really have to try the Boots wipes. I just bought the Olay Daily Facials Wet cleansing cloths yesterday. Those are the ones I like best so far.
The CG blush seems great. I’ll have to try it.
Also, I love the Boots Sensitive Serum, it’s a staple for me.

OK, that’s it. I’ve been eyeing that blush since it was released and now after reading your review–I’ve got to get my hands on it!
Also, I thought of a rhyme:
Cream before powder, never fear.
Powder before cream, never, my dear!
