You gotta love PINK…..Natalie Portman was just SO refreshing to look at the Oscars….(sorry Angelina…you are perfection, too… but the black thing is getting old). It just seems like celebs have gotten too “safe” on the red carpet in the last decade…WHERE IS CHER? I MISS YOUR HEADPIECES….hee hee!

But why did I REALLY did Natalie’s get-up? Her makeup of course…….I loved that her makeup artist proved that THERE ARE NO RULES IN MAKEUP…..Generally (and you will be trained this way if you work at a counter) makeup artists are taught to keep all the colors on the face “in the same color family”...Meaning if you are wearing a pink-based blush, a yellow-based lipstick will look “off”...And sometimes it can, but if you always followed the rules like a good little girl, Natalie wouldn’t have (in my opinion) stolen the show at the Oscars this year……

The picture here doesn’t do a great job of highlighting N’s makeup but her eyes looked extraordinary in a barrage of warm golden tones while her pale, pink-based lip played very well with the pink in her gown….(Oh, yeah…ANOTHER rule broken, NEVER MATCH YOUR MAKEUP TO YOUR WARDROBE)…Rules, Smules……
