Well, I haven’t made the friends yet, but I AM moving…(or The Daily Beauty Break is). Since Twolia will be closing all the blogs that don’t directly pertain to women in entertainment, I’ll be blogging now over at http://beautyandthebreakdown.onsugar.com/. They say the only constant in life is change, so here goes…
And in case you don’t already know, I’m probably one of the least technically advanced bloggers on the planet…. so it will probably mean a lot less posts at first (plus I must admit 2+ years of beauty blogging=burnt out). I’ve already decided that I want to focus more on the “experience” of beauty…meaning more pondering about how to feel beautiful regardless of how the outside actually looks.
I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for following me here at Twolia, it’s been a great ride…..

Happy Thursday my beauties! One more day….So have you picked out a summer fragrance yet? If you’re a floral/fruity kind of girl try Ralph Lauren’s Summer Romance ($78..3.4ml). Key notes of hibiscus, passion fruit and apricot are all tied to together with a light musk that gives this scent a little more kick.
I’ve gotten a couple of compliments since I worn it….and you KNOW I’ll take ‘em where I can get em these days!
Smell beautiful Y’all….

Earth Day’s coming up and like it or not, there’s a lot of scary crap in our cosmetics…So I thought I’d try out some more earth-friendly natural alternatives to my usual petro-chemical filled beauty staples. Last night I took my makeup off with Wembe Clean Face Makeup Remover ($7.95).
Not a real fan of natural bar soaps I was pleasantly surprised…..This little Vegan bad-boy did a great job taking it all off. It turns out olive oil and cocoa butter really agree with the Clarisonic! If you haven’t heard of Wembe Soap Company, their mission is:
“To satiate the human thirst for nature; infusing our products with the purest ingredients from natural sources, certified organic when possible, using our knowledge of the power of the rainforest plants and fruits and the magic of aromatherapy, respecting our environment. Helping our community and always respect other beings.”

Are you a perfectionist like moi? One of the blessings of self-awareness ( a curse on a bad day) is that I have been shocked to realized how much it impacts my life (and others…). Obviously it has a lot to do with why I ended up in the ” image business”. Hey! If it looks good it IS good, right? (wrong). Beauty companies know this.
Enter Kymaro Sunless Tanning System ($39.95). Nothing bugs my perfectionist-self like self tanner streaks and missed spots…so the Kymaro System comes with a light wand that you scan over your body to see EXACTLY where you’ve applied.
The really nice thing is since you use the light they don’t have to stuff thier tanning formula with a bunch of dye that can stain your clothes. But does it work? I don’t know yet. Things have been nutso at my place so I’m waiting for the perfect time….

Happy Humpday my beauties! Unfortunately, I don’t think I would look quite as cute as Natalie with a shaved head. Maybe it’s my weak arms, but I am so over this long hair thing. I can’t wait until it gets super hot and my 9 tons of hair can airdry on it’s own in less than 9 hours. I know I “should” only shampoo every other day, but after gym-hair just totally grosses me out.

So I was happy someone sent me a bottle of Salon Graphixs Invisible Dry Spray Shampoo ($8) to try because it got me through yesterday blow-dry free! Invisible Dry left my hair feeling fresh and soaked up the greasies just as well as some of the other expensive ones I’ve tried. I’ll be keeping it in rotation.
Still can’t wait to wash my hair after the gym today…lol!

Oh, I’m thinkin’ on it….Just need one FULL week of FULL-ON sun! I know I’ll curse myself for saying it in few months when it’s a bazillion degrees here in Texas but my mood seems to be following the weather patterns….So I’m going to cultivate an attitude of beauty gratitude and give you a Spring Top 5!
1. Mario Badescu Hyaluronic Eye Cream ($18). SUPER moisturizing and makes fine lines say, Buh-bye! Bonus, it doesn’t give me milia like so many other heavy eye creams….
2. Ahava Dermud Intensive Nourishing Body Cream ($32). Sunny, spring days = a lot more leg-shavin’ and itchy, irritated gams for moi…..GONE. There’s a reason this won this years CEW award…
3. Pevonia Hydrating Sunscreen SPF30 ($40). This luxurious moisturizer thinks it’s a sunscreen. None of that annoying rubbing, rubbing, rubbing….
4. ZO Skin Health Oclipse Sunscreen + Primer SPF 30 ($65). I’ve gushed on this one before. Not only do I not have to worry about my blackheads showing if it’s a no-makeup day (been a lot of those lately), but I don’t have to worry about more sun damage (I’m already damaged enough as it is…).
5. Nothing says spring like berry-stained lips..love me some Palladio Lip Stain ($6). Just as good as prestige and the CHEAPEST masstige price of all (even Cover Girl). Check ‘em out at Ulta next trip…
So there’s some list love for ya. Anything new in your beauty universe I need to embrace? Do tell….

Want a cheap beauty thrill for under $10? Try Tree Hut body products…You’ve seen them at Walmart, Kroger and Ulta (like I have)…and if you are like me thought, “eh, can’t be THAT great at THAT price”. Well I was WRONG… Turns out Tree Hut puts Certified Organic Shea Butter products into every product! Tree Hut’s Shea Butter Body Lotion in Coconut Lime left my skin feeling just as moisturized as more expensive brands and left me smelling totally delish.

I gave my skin a spring slough with Tree Hut Body Scrub in Original Shea…the decadent formula left me smooth and ready for shorts (well, almost…I need to get this jello to the gym)! But seriously, total luxury on the cheap. Because I don’t care how tight your budget is…a girl’s gotta scrub and this feels RICH.
Be sure to check it out next trip out to your everything store!
